Corlie Smart is a Stellenbosch lawyer (LLM) specialising in heritage legislation. She serves on the impact study committee of Heritage Western Cape. She also is vice chairperson of the Stellenbosch Heritage Foundation. Her richly illustrated lecture on the appropriate sections of the law provide new insights into the application of the law and practical examples of misconceptions concerning the restoration of or alterations to historical buildings.
This talk will be of interest to owners of properties under heritage protection, property developers, estate agents and persons interested in the preservation of buildings. She also discusses decisions taken by heritage authorities.
