Stellenbosch Municipality established planning advisory committees for the geographical areas of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch to advise Council on important matters pertaining to the cultural landscape and built environment with specific reference to heritage resources as defined in heritage legislation. The term of current members of the planning advisory committees will expire soon.
Notice is hereby given that the Stellenbosch Municipality is awaiting applications from knowledgeable members of the community and community organizations to participate on a voluntary basis in the Planning and Advisory Committees for Stellenbosch and Franschhoek respectively.
People and organizations with the necessary knowledge, skills and proven experience in the following disciplines are encouraged to apply:
- Architects
- Urban Designers
- Heritage Professionals
- Town Planners
- Archaeologists
- SAHRA
- Heritage Western Cape
- Stellenbosch Museum
- University of Stellenbosch
- Landscape Architect
- Local Conservation Bodies
- Knowledgeable community members/Historians
The terms of reference for the Planning Advice Committees are obtainable from the offices of the Directorate: Planning and Economic Development and can be viewed on the Stellenbosch municipal website.
All applications for membership must be accompanied by a CV with particular reference to professional qualifications, membership of professional bodies, similar or relevant proven experience in a sensitive cultural landscape.
