15 Minute City model gains ground

Dec 13, 2021 | Awards, Forum, News

The 15 Minute City model is the third project to ever win the Obel Award, which is an international prize presented to architectural projects that contribute to society. The model was developed by Professor Carlos Moreno and his team.

According to the judges the model, “which can be adjusted to local culture, conditions, and needs, places each global citizen at the heart of their own city, enabling them to thrive and to live the full urban experience within a short walk or bike ride of their home.”

This model has already influenced city planning in Paris, Buenos Aires, Chengdu and Melbourne. With the prize money Moreno and his team are planning to apply the concept in more rural and low density areas. Watch the Youtube video posted by Dezeen
