Description
A single-storey rectangular church with gabled ends and doubl- pitched tiled roof. The building has an exposed brick plinth and brick arches over the windows, which are set between buttresses. The entrance portico is on the side.

History
The settlement dates back to 1903 when Rhenish Mission settlers made Stellenbosch their home, and <br />
established Jamestown on the outskirts of the town in order for members of their congregation, <br />
many of whom were farm labourers, small scale subsistence farm

Statement of Significance
The Methodist Church, although not as historic as the Rhenish Church, is one of the few religious
structures in Jamestown. The site has historical, social and contextual significance. It has a strong
association with the history of slavery in the winelands.
