Statement of Significance
The werf has intact characteristics such as the gabled homestead, axial approach, werf wall,
evidence of threshing floor, landscaping. The werf as a whole exhibits the strong pattern of
settlement seen elsewhere along the Eerste River, between the R310 and river itself. The site has
historical, contextual, scenic, architectural and social significance. There is an association with
slavery. The site has a degree of rarity.
Landscape Significance
Some mature Oaks, camphor, ad hoc garden planting.
