Description
A werf complex with farmhouse and wine cellar. The house may have an original core, but is much altered. A bell-tower is evident in the garden alongside the house. A modern wine cellar, in fairly sympathetic style, is located to the north. There is a modern "werf wall" that may follow an historic alignment. Trees of maturity edge the space.

Evidence of Demolition
Fairly extensive alteration, possibly including demolition, is evident.
Contextual Design
High contextual significance - the sense of place in the siting of the werf within the natural and
agricultural landscape is of significance, and representative of early farmsteads in the Eerste River
Valley.
Invasive Elements
Very tall "werf wall" - possibly built on the alignment of an older werf wall. The farmhouse could be a
pastiche - it has been modernised, with very vertical proportions, but may have an historic core.
Heritage Vulnerability
Some modern development is evident. Intrusive housing development to the east, within the main view one from the werf.
