H-plan Cape Dutch homestead, back portion wider than front, possibly originally T-shape. Front gable (1833), intact joinery. Outbuildings in line, with clipped gables. Very well-sited at the head of valley and surrounded by trees of stature.

A linear werf type, this farm is spectacularly sited within a sub-valley of the Bottelary, and retains its
sense of place. The farm has historical, architectural, contextual, scenic and landscape significance
(part of the farm is a nature reserve). It has a unique front gable. The site is deserving of its PHS
status.
