Description
Constructed in 1967, the main building incorporates elements from Saasveld House, orginally situated in Kloof Street, Cape Town. Saasveld House was the home of Dutch East India Company employee William Ferdinand van Reede van Oudtshoorn, designed by Louis Michel Thibault and built in the 1740s. The original items include doors and frames, Batavian floor tiles and slate tiles from Robben Island, and the gates to the premises.
