Description

Early grant. Owned by Haumann family from 1774 until 1894, when an additional piece of land known as “Keurvlei” was purchased. The H-plan house was built between 1813 and 1862. It now has a large late Cape Dutch gable with straight sides. The setting in vineyards and orchards is remarkable, and the on-axis approach is cut short directly in front of house by stream and pond. See also La Brie (Laborie) also owned by Haumann family, on same axis further SW.
