Statement of Significance
This is an interesting werf, and a good example of a layered site. The earlier homestead and its
gables were incorporated into a large, double pitched end gable following a fire, and the werf,
although modernised, follows the historic pattern and retains fragments of older walls. The site is
highly layered, and has a high degree of historic and architectural significance. In addition, the
werf has scenic and contextual significance.
