Description
A T-shaped homestead with addition to make an "H". The front gable is dated 1822. There are several outbuildings set behind the house, as well as werf walls that negotiate the slope. The werf contributes to the qualities of the whole, with Uiterwyk, and spatially the two werfs read as a continuum, and present an example of the historical layering of some of the historic werfs in the area.

History
A deduction from Uiterwyk.
Grouping with other sites
With Uiterwyk, the adjacent werf which reads spatially with Kastanjeberg as a continuous whole.
Evidence of Demolition
Contextual Design
The house is set on an embankment to the north of the Uiterwyk homestead, and creates a parallel
edge to the approach of this house. The werf contributes strongly to that of Uiterwyk, and spatially
they read as a very fine whole.
