Description
H-plan house on linear werf with other outbuildings; altered significantly by Watermeyer in 1877 and again more recently. Character of buildings changed with dormer windows, gable, Victorian garden features and Victorian-Baroque walling. Old well house, photographed by Elliot, still remains.

History
Grouping with other sites
Main H-shaped house with long buildings are found in a row. The old wine cellar is the only building
not found in that line.

Invasive Elements
Office building (added structure) and random use of the werf as parking lot. Degraded and
fragmented werf. Not one coherent grouping but rather a few individual part each with its own
fence is seen. Large trees and a few forgotten steps in the landscape

Statement of Significance
Although this site has been somewhat degraded through alteration, the werf wall and well structure
are very significant features in the context of the winelands. The site as a whole still retains historical,
architecural, contextual and scenic significance.
Landscape Significance
The row of Oak trees originally found in front of the building has been re-planted with new oaks.
