Jonkershoek Road is define by an avenue of mature Oak Trees, that are sometimes intermingled with mature trees of other species. The laterite treatment of the road verge around the Oaks, as well as the generally unobtrusive road elements and the leiwater, are characteristic of the historic treed streets in Stellenbosch, and part of its cultural landscape.
