Description

Two single storey-cottages, under double-pitched iron roof with end gables and lean-to to the back. Although the structures are in a state of disrepair, they appear to be authentic remaining examples of the modest cottage type that would once have been pervasive in the settlement.

History

The settlement dates back to 1903 when Rhenish Mission settlers made Stellenbosch their home, and <br /> established Jamestown on the outskirts of the town in order for members of their congregation, <br /> many of whom were farm labourers, small scale subsistence farm
