Description
"H-shaped thatched house with Neo-classical central gable and end gables with half-round caps. Late 19th Century joinery, including a 6x6 sash in gable, central 4x4 panelled double door with geometric fanlight flanked by narrow 2x2 sashes, and 6x6 sashes with internal folding shutters. Some original windows survive at the back. Tiled stoep with end walls and projecting steps."
History
"There was already a house on this erf in 1799 when it was deducted from erf J (granted in 1704). In 1812 it was bought by RFL Neethling, the owner of Grosvenor House, and in 1845 passed to his son CL Neethling. (Source: Fransen & Cooke) The door was previously off-centre, leading to a passage taken off the voorkamer, and the eaves had been raised to take a corrugated iron roof. The door was moved and the house re-thatched during recent restoration work."
