Statement of Significance
The Dornier farm werf is a very fine example of the integration of Cape Revival and earlier fabric into
a cohesive, spatial whole. The farm enjoys a spectacular setting, nestled into a sub-valley of the
Helderberg, and thus demonstrates the interplay between settlement, rural landscape and
wilderness so characteristic of the Cape Winelands. The site has a high degree of architectural,
aesthetic, scenic and historical significance.
Landscape Significance
Mature oak trees and linear avenues of trees contribute to the sense of place.
