Statement of Significance

Although modest, this building has high social and landmark significance. Together with workers cottages elsewhere in the area, it makes manifest a section of the community within the Eerste River Valley that is often not well represented in heritage sites. Together with the adjacent oak trees, this cottage has landmark significance. Recent road-widening and construction has impacted negatively on the site.

Landscape Significance

Mature oak trees around the structure attest to its age.
