The Stellenbosch Kloof Road sub-valley exhibits the unique interplay between wilderness, the rural
landscape and the pattern of settlement that is so characteristic of the Cape Winelands. It has very
high landscape, historical, aesthetic and scenic significance. Several of the werfs in the valley are
of high architectural significance.
