Statement of Significance
This site, and similar ones within "Die Vlakte," make tangible the absence of the community forced
out under the Group Areas Act, with the demolition of their homes that followed their removal. This
site in particular, as a community centre of worship, has strong associations with the forced removals
that occurred in the area.
Landscape Significance
Two distinctive and mature palms, two pin Oaks, Brazillian pepper tree, yellowwood. Syringas and
pepper trees around parking lot edge.
