Description
An extremely fine and layered agricultural landscape, with a water course running central to the valley, roughly followed by the road, and very fine homesteads and werfs set between the river and the road. The agricultural landscape forms the foreground to these, with the Helderberg Peaks enclosing the view to the east.

The Annandale Road sub-valley exhibits the unique interplay between wilderness, the rural
landscape and the pattern of settlement that is so characteristic of the Cape Winelands. It has very
high landscape, historical, aesthetic and scenic significance. Several of the werfs in the valley are of
high architectural significance.
