Description
Unusual werf, with the homestead set lower down than the cellars, which are located on a flat terrace further up the hill. An historic cellar, facing the approach along Annandale road, but somewhat over-sanitised since the 1960 photograph reproduced in Fransen (2004). Two additional modern cellar structures have been added to the building, without any gasket or setback. The <br />
historic homestead has been altered to such an extent that it has lost all sense of autheticity. Some original gateposts exist further down the road and opposite the homestead, indicating a possible alternate approach historically.

Statement of Significance
While this is a farm werf of some age, and has historic authenticity, the additions and alterations to
the historic buildings have reduced their architectural significance. The werf operates over two
levels, with the homestead disconnected from the cellar. The site has historical and some limited
architectural significance.
Landscape Significance
Some mature oak trees remain in front of the cellar, but no stong landscape pattern exists.
