Statement of Significance
Although modest, this collection of buildings have high social, contextual and landmark
significance. Together with workers housing, it makes manifest the institutions of a particular section
of society within the Eerste river community.
Landscape Significance
The line of "beefwood" trees to the north (across the Annandale Road) and dark foliage along the
Eerste River create a "landscape room" for this collection of civic/religious structures, with the vines
creating the landscaped foreground to them.
