Statement of Significance
This structure is a very good, intact example of the Arts and Crafts style, hybridised with the early
1930s Cape Revival style. It is a unique example of the elaborate, free-standing houses that were
constructed in this part of Stellenbosch, and is a rare architectural example. It has contextual,
aesthetic and architectural significance, and contributes to the streetscape.
Landscape Significance
Jacarandas along street edge, mature syringa in garden, jacaranda along boundary towards back
of the property.
