Description
A Victorian single storey structure with central entrance between two projecting bay windows, and gable end above with loft window. The junction of the "gable architecture" of the structure with the "stoep architecture" of the ground level, below the stoep roof, is slightly awkward and may hint at an older, more modest core structure, that was "Victorianised". The joinery (sash windows, french door), <br />
"broekielace" columns, as well as plaster detailing seem to be original. A modern garage building is freestanding, to the south. The edge of the site is defined by a low hedge to the street.

Statement of Significance
This structure is an interesting example of a Victorian house, and is characteristic of the Victorian
villas that were constructed in this part of Stellenbosch. Its garden makes a positive contribution to
Mostertsdrift, in addition to its architecture. It has architectural, some historical as well as contextual
significance, and contributes to the streetscape.
Landscape Significance
The low hedge and Jacaranda tree in the front garden contrbute to the streetscape.
