Heritage Analysis
SITE & STRUCTURE DESCRIPTION:	"Thatched H-shaped house of which the extended rear part is older than the front. The front has a pedimented gable with vases and 20x20 sash, neo-classical end gables and corner pilasters. The bo-en-onder door with small pane fanlight and architrave with fluted pilasters is flanked by half sashes and 24x24 sashes, all with solid half shutters. The raised brick stoep has projecting steps and a pergola on plastered capped columns. History:	"The Rhenish complex was acquired by the Rhenish Mission Society in 1832, by which time nearly all the buildings already existed. Most are on the 1817 town plan."
Social History:
Alterations:	Part of restoration of Rhenish complex by Revel Fox and partners with Henry Villet for Cape Provincial Administration. The house was gutted by fire c1900. The gable was reconstructed from old photographs and the windows and doors replaced (the frames had survived)
