Description
"Three-bay thatched cottage with holbol end gables and dormer gable with fixed casement. Stable door with small-pane fanlight flanked by single casements and double casements with solid shutters. Cobbled stoep symmetrical around entrance, with scrolled end walls. One bay added to left with straight end gable."
History
"A piece of land of about 1.5 morgen was granted to the Landdrost HI Bletterman in 1786. The following year he sold it to Martin Byleveld, who subdivided it and in 1791 sold this portion to Jan Georg Lankhoff, a tailor, who probably built this house shortly afterwards. When the house was restored the mid-19th C windows were replaced with the present casements. The interior walls, which formed a condensed H plan without the side courts, have been removed since restoration. (Fransen & Cook)"
